The European Championship 2012 will take place in Torredembarra (Catalonia, Spain) on 6 and 7 July.

On Sunday, August 21, 2011 the patin was proposed at VVW Heist.  The weather was fine and there was a lot of enthusiasm.  There is a great interest in VVW Heist to become a patin-hub at the Flemish Coast, in addition to De Haan and Bredene.
Hopefully this will be continued.

Belgian Championship 2011 took place from 22 to 24 July. Presented by Twinsclub Bredene.

This year, the European Championship took place from 23 to 26 of June, in club C.N. Sant Pol in Barcelona.  The Belgians Gert, Herwig and Bernard braved the harsh weather conditions. On the first day of the competition there was only 1 race, instead of 2.  The second day the weather was better with winds between 7 and 12 knots. On Sunday, the third and final day there was practically no wind and the race was shortened. And teh second one has been canceled. Apart from the weather, this was a well-organized European Cup.

At the request of the Vlaamse Vereniging voor Watersport Heist, we give an initiation of Patin Sailing.
The initiation takes place on August 21 from 11 am to 17 pm at vvw Heist, Zeedijk 197 C/O, Knokke-Heist.

Some Patin sailors are talented seagull land sailors.

Sailing without a rudder means that the boat constantly must be in balance. For small path deviations, the trim of the sail is used. When bigger manoeuvres are needed, the sailor has to shift his body weight. The inclination of the mast can be adjusted to the front or to the back during sailing.

Very technical ? Not at all.
Yet so simple.

Even if the patin is over 100 years, Patin sailors look forward.

The North Sea Patin Association (Nosepasa) is organizing a ninth initiation day.
On 11 juni 2011 at the Twinsclub at Bredene (Driftweg 69), Belgium.
A short explanation about the patin a vela will start at 2pm at the twinsclub. Please bring your own wetsuit (cold water) and boots. After the initiation (around 5pm) we offer a drink in the Twinsclub.
